LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 8.10 g, 10 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing pendant earring and with her hair bound in a sakkos. Rev. MET[A] Ear of barley with seven grains and leaf to right; above leaf, K. HN Italy 1550. Noe, 515.a = Warren 79 (this coin). SNG ANS 385 (same dies). A beautiful and attractively toned piece with a splendid pedigree. Graffito on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
